Who am I
Where do I go
How do I get there
What will I do
Emerging like a butterfly
Transported towards the light
Aware of all around
Crammed with knowledge
Prepared for life
No longer a child
Juvenile in thought and mind
This grown up form
Of humanities future
Explodes free from the shakles
No longer confined
Grasping opportunity with both hands
We acheive and grow

You told them lies
I cried myself too sleep
I smiled every morning
Hiding fear so deep
I raised the bar every day
Ran the gauntlet
Fought all in my way
Took the hits from those unseen
Placed them in boxes
Never too be seen
Took strides to rise
High out of this putrid mirk
Sense of humour cheeky smirk
With fists of steel
Quick wits and fast thought
Days grew quicker
And tormentors turned
You still doubted my strengths
Putting me down
Lying to those aged above
Spreading your lies
And fairytale spin
This inperfect person
Born under your skin
Driven too acheive despite of it all
Praying that parents would stop the free fall
Years flew past and incidents cause
Blame was clearly laid at the wrong door
Your perfection mard
By your own stuborn ways
And the glaring imperfections
In the things you did say
Glass shattered around you
From that day too this
Constant reminders of dual standard bliss
Stronger than you in every way
Wiser and smarter I grew day by day
As a parent strong and respected be
Be proud of the fact I am me and not thee
Loving all children the same as the first
In thier own perfections
No matter thier cases
Unfaltering assistance
Without condition is Dailly at play

Thread bare cloths
Teaseld hair
Calassed feet
No shoes too wear
Cuts and abrasions
Cover my skin

Deafening noise
As bobbins flash
Clickity clack
As it passes by
Whir of wheels
Grind of gears
anticipation feeding fears

In I dash
To the darkened midst
Replace the shuttle
Spread the threads
Dash back out
No time to waste
Death awaits if you hesitate

The bobbin boys/girl
Work night and day
Stoor and mirk
Dimness of light
Education dealt on site
Family’s whole work each day
Producing wears for other too bare

Remember those aeroplane spoons
The cups with the spouts
The cutlery for Lilliputians
That rash on your leg
The rusks with warm milk
Jelly and cream
And that first frozen face
While eating ice cream
Lying on the floor kicking your legs
To exploring new places
Using your head
Thundering around on all fours
Those teetering steps
Cruising the sofa
The buggy rides down the street
The weird looks on faces
Off people we met
The couchie coos and bonnie bairns
From the strangest of people
Out on their feet
The yoyo and jacks too hula hoops and foam mats
That push along trike
Too coolest go-cart
The tentative days getting the nack
Two wheeler motion
stabilizers off
Cruising the streets
On your Grifter so tough
Where have these days fled too I ask
The simplest of days held to task
That frivolous enjoyment and messy retort
The best years of our lives
Out grown in a flash
